Introduction
MacDangles is a tiny macOS menu-bar app that hangs a lucky charm from the top of your screen. The charm swings with gentle physics, and you can drag it, flick it, or hide it whenever you like.
MacDangles does not require an account or login. It works entirely offline. We do not operate servers, and we do not collect your personal information.

Information We Collect
MacDangles does not collect any personal information.
Everything the app uses — your chosen charm, its size, rope length, position, and any custom charm image you add — remains stored only on your Mac.
How Your Data Is Stored
All settings are stored locally using on-device storage, and any custom charm image you import is copied into the app's own sandbox container on your Mac.
MacDangles works entirely offline. There is no cloud sync and no remote server operated by us. No information is transmitted to external servers.
If you enable system backups (such as iCloud Backup), the app's local data may be included in those encrypted backups, which are governed by Apple's privacy policies. Deleting the app removes its data from your Mac.
Third-Party Services
MacDangles does not share data with third parties. The app does not use:
- Analytics SDKs
- Advertising SDKs
- Tracking or attribution tools
- Authentication services
- Cloud databases
- Any network services
Permissions
MacDangles does not request sensitive permissions. It only reads an image file you explicitly choose when adding a custom charm, and that file is copied locally. Specifically:

Data Deletion
Deleting the application removes all locally stored data from your Mac.
Children's Privacy
These applications are intended for a general audience and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, parents and guardians can be confident that children's information is not gathered by the app.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect improvements or changes to the application. Any updates will be published on this page along with the revised "Last Updated" date.
