Privacy Policy

Clear information about how Save Later handles your data on device — written for people, not just lawyers.

Introduction

Save Later is a private, simple iOS app that helps you keep things you want to come back to later in one organized place. You can save links, add notes, organize items with tags and collections, mark favorites, set reminders, and securely store usernames and passwords in a protected password vault.

Save Later does not require an account to use its core features. The app is designed to store user-created saves and password information locally on the device. We do not intentionally collect or sell personal information through the app.

This Privacy Policy explains how Save Later handles information when you use the app and this website.

Information We Collect

Save Later does not require account creation, email registration, password-based account login, or user profile creation.

We do not operate an account system for the app’s core functionality, and we do not intentionally collect personal information from you through the app for marketing, advertising, or profiling purposes.

If you contact us by email for support or privacy questions, we will receive whatever information you include in that message so we can respond.

Information Stored on Your Device

Save Later is designed so user-created saved content remains on your device. Saved content may include:

  • URLs
  • Titles
  • Notes
  • Tags
  • Collections
  • Favorite status
  • Reminder information
  • Related metadata such as source labels or optional preview details

Password Vault & Keychain Security

The Passwords section is separate from saved links. Password information may include a website or service name, username, password, and other credentials you enter.

Password secrets are stored using the iOS Keychain rather than ordinary application storage. Access to the password vault is protected using iOS device authentication such as Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.

The vault can automatically lock again after the configured inactivity period. Non-secret password details you enter (such as website name, username, or notes) are kept with the app’s local on-device data, while the password secret itself is stored through the Keychain-backed secure storage used by the app.

Save Later relies on Apple’s platform security for Keychain protection and device authentication. This Privacy Policy does not claim a custom encryption algorithm beyond what the platform and the app’s secure-storage implementation provide.

Notifications

Notifications are optional. Save Later may use local notifications when you choose to create a reminder.

Notifications are not required for the core saving functionality. You can control notification permissions through iOS Settings.

Clipboard Access

Save Later may access clipboard content when you intentionally choose to copy or paste content — for example, pasting a URL into a save, or copying a password after authenticating.

Clipboard access is not continuous monitoring. The app does not continuously read your clipboard in the background.

Share Sheet / Shared Content

You can send links or content to Save Later using the iOS Share Sheet. When you explicitly share content with Save Later, the app processes that shared content so it can be saved.

Save Later does not monitor other apps. Shared content is handled only when you choose to share it with Save Later.

Internet Access and External Websites

Save Later may access the internet when required to open saved websites, or to retrieve optional website information and metadata (such as a page title or preview details) when supported by the app.

When you open a saved URL, the destination website is controlled by that website’s operator and follows its own privacy practices. Save Later is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

Save Later does not proxy or store every webpage you visit or save.

Website Metadata

When you save a link, Save Later may optionally request the destination page to read publicly available metadata such as a title, description, or preview image. This helps make your saves easier to recognize.

The app may also load a favicon for a saved domain using a third-party favicon service. That request can include the domain of the site you saved so an icon can be displayed.

These network requests are used to improve the usefulness of your local saves. They are not used to build an advertising profile.

Data Sharing

Save Later does not intentionally sell personal information.

The app does not intentionally share your user-created saved content with third parties for advertising, analytics, or data brokerage.

Limited network requests may occur when you open a link, when optional metadata is fetched from a destination website, or when a favicon is loaded for a saved domain. Those requests go to the relevant website or favicon service and are governed by that operator’s practices.

Advertising & Tracking

Save Later is not designed around advertising or behavioral tracking.

Based on the current app dependencies, Save Later does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or account/authentication cloud services for core functionality.

Data Retention

User-created local content remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app and its associated data.

Password secrets remain protected in the device’s secure storage according to iOS Keychain behavior and the app’s implementation. Exact Keychain retention after app deletion follows Apple’s platform behavior and is not independently controlled by a remote server operated by us.

Data Deletion

You can delete saved content from within the app. You can also remove the application and its associated app data through iOS.

Because Save Later does not require an account or server-side storage for core functionality, there is no separate server-side deletion process for your local saves.

Children’s Privacy

Save Later is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support email, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it from our correspondence records.

Security

Save Later’s security approach focuses on practical, platform-backed protections:

  • Local-first storage for user-created saves
  • iOS Keychain for password secrets
  • Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode protection for vault access
  • Automatic vault locking after the configured inactivity period
  • iOS platform security

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of Save Later after changes means you should review the updated policy.
